NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight

Many people have said the the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight is the device that the Amazon Kindle 4 with Wi-Fi should have been. It’s a basic e-book reader with a 6-inch e-ink screen that accepts all the typical modern e-book formats, plus it comes with built-in backlighting to allow pretty much anyone to truly read any time, anywhere. Even before the Nook Simple Touch was released to the market with built-in backlighting for the screen, it was already popular. And now, with the inclusion of simple built-in backlighting, it is even more closer to perfection.

It features a 6-inch 600×800 pixel resolution touchscreen e-ink display. It may not seem like much on paper, but in reality its simplicity is what has led it to become so successful. Besides, the seemingly low-resolution screen is no hindrance and really doesn’t effect the experience all that much when it comes to reading e-books on the go. The reader accepts e-books in the ePub format and can even display media in the form of BMP, GIF,JPG, and PDF.

There is built-in 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and up to 2 months of standby time on a single charge. Needless to say, you can be confident that it will always be ready when you’ve got some quiet time for reading. It’s a bit more expensive than the base model of the Amazon Kindle with Wi-Fi, but it’s a great way to go if you don’t want ads and want to read in low light.
